Chilled & Fresh Cargo
Maintain exact +2°C to +8°C environments with active ventilation and humidity controls for perishable fresh foods.
Chilled Cargo & Fresh Food Logistics
Fresh agricultural products, green vegetables, cut flowers, and dairy goods are living organisms that continue to respire after harvest. Shipping these items requires precise temperature controls (typically +2°C to +8°C) to slow down ripening and prevent spoilage.
At Scan2Freight, we design custom chilled logistics solutions, managing humidity levels and air exchange parameters to ensure your inventory arrives fresh.
Active Ethylene & Fresh Air Exchange Controls
Fresh fruits naturally release ethylene gas, a hormone that accelerates ripening and decay. To prevent carbon dioxide and ethylene buildup inside reefer boxes:
- Fresh Air Exchange: Adjusting reefer container vents to allow a continuous intake of fresh air (15 to 25 CBM/hour) while venting stale, ethylene-heavy air.
- Humidity Regulation: Maintaining relative humidity (RH) between 85% and 95% to stop dehydration and prevent mold growth.
