Reefer Pre-Trip Inspection (PTI) Procedures

Before dispatching a temperature-controlled container (reefer) to a shipper:

Refrigeration Diagnostics: Checking the compressor, evaporator coils, fans, and sensors. The unit is run to verify it can reach and hold target temperature ranges (from -30°C to +30°C).
Calibration & Log Checks: Calibrating temperature probes and clearing data-logger memories to record new trip logs cleanly.

Steam Washing & Cargo-Worthy Preparations

Ensuring a container is cargo-ready prevents contamination:

Washing & Deodorizing: Steam washing container walls and floors to remove grease, chemical traces, or residue smells from past voyages.
Moisture & Odor Audits: Inspecting plywood floorboards for dampness or oil stains that could damage sensitive cargo.
