Ocean LCL (Less-than-Container Load) consolidation is the primary method for moving smaller cargo volumes across deep-sea lanes. Shippers only pay for the exact volume (CBM) their crates consume inside the container box.

Container Freight Station (CFS) Stuffing Procedures
Consolidating cargo at the Container Freight Station (CFS) follows a structured sequence:
- Intake Survey: Packages are verified for weight, dimensions, and damage before gating into the CFS yard.
- Customs Inspection: Customs officers verify cargo descriptions against the Shipping Bill and grant the Let Export Order (LEO).
- Stuffing & Lashing: Heavy wooden crates are loaded at the bottom of the container, with lighter packages on top, secured with dunnage bags to prevent shifts.
- FCL Sealing: The container door is locked with a high-security custom bolt seal before transport to the seaport.

What is a Container Freight Station (CFS)?
A CFS is a customs-licensed warehouse terminal where Less-than-Container Load (LCL) cargo is received, sorted, stuffed into containers for export, or unpacked for import distribution.
How are LCL ocean shipping rates billed?
Ocean LCL is billed based on the W/M (Weight or Measure) rule, where 1 Cubic Meter (CBM) is equivalent to 1,000 kilograms (1 ton). You are billed for whichever value is greater.
